Sold out! Cowl + Crumpets

$150.00

Together, in this live-virtual course, we will knit a gorgeous 2-color cowl and enjoy a lovely cuppa.

Not your average Zoom course! We’ll cover some fantastic kitting, but you also get to socialize over tea and pastries. Gather your favorite goodies around your laptop and let’s make something amazing.

Why you want this course. If you answer yes to any or all of the following, then Cowl + Crumpets is for you.

  • Stumped by short rows? If you have never done them or want to improve your skill.

  • Increase stitches – they don’t look “right” when you do them, or you have never done them

  • Not sure how to add a second color.

  • Your yarn overs don’t look quite right.

  • Garter tab. What is that, you say?

  • You want to work up the Butterfly [Papillon] Shawl, but it looks scary. This project is the perfect primer. Maybe you love the look, but you’d prefer something smaller, like a cowl.

  • You are looking for something to rekindle your spark for knitting.

In this course, we will solve all the mysteries above and then some. You will learn skills and techniques you can use in so many other projects. This course is meant to take you from cast on to bind off at a leisurely pace so you may enjoy the process without stress.

Good use of mini-skeins and/or left over sock yarn. You do want contrast in your yarn selection. Instructor is using Perennial Caribbean #350 for CC and Perth Yarra River #101 for MC.

Needles: US 2/2.75 mm or size to obtain gauge. If you want to try magic loop, then you will need a 40”/100 cm length or longer. If you don’t care to try magic loop, then you need a 24”/60 cm or 32”/80 cm.

Stitch markers: One type or color for border and spine (qty 4); locking marker (qty 1); several other stitch markers not of the same color and/or type as other markers used in this project.

Notions: General knitting supplies such as a tape measure, scissor, tapestry needle.

Recommended but not required: Highlighter markers of two different colors. Highligher tape, pattern board or some other means of row tracking other than a row counter.
